For complex or heavily integrated projects, or for a level of detail that can only be achieved by a talented architect, it may be advisable to work with an outside design firm on the overall house design.
These collaborative efforts have led to some of the most satisfying projects we have ever been involved in. When necessary during design development, we can provide suggestions for how to keep the design amenable to cost-efficient timber framing, or for how to better enhance a particular aesthetic. Throughout, we respect the responsibility of the architect and allow him or her to remain in complete control of the project. While we appreciate the recognition that we do receive, we are not interested in being the ‘hero’ of a project. We realize that our discerning clients expect and deserve the best from us, and our goal is to meet and exceed those expectations on a daily basis, from timber frame design right through to the raising. By focusing solely on our responsibility and how it pertains to the rest of the project, we ensure that we are doing our part to make the collaborative effort result in breathtaking work – a structure that becomes more than the sum of its parts.
We pride ourselves on the relationships we have developed with architects through our projects. We have been fortunate enough to work alongside some of the finest architects in the nation. We are proud of the fact that these architects rely on us for our timber frame expertise and craftsmanship, and that once we do one project with a given architect others tend to follow. Indeed, word of mouth and repeat business are directly responsible for our growth.
We appreciate each and every relationship we have forged in our 25 years. It is because of these relationships that we have been allowed to concentrate on what we truly love to do: custom timber frame projects that require quality components, skilled craftsmanship, and a sharp attention to detail. We look forward to maintaining and strengthening these relationships, and to developing new ones.
